Tri-Oz Cafe
Studiowatt has designed a café located at the center of Mahasarakham University, conceived as a “third place” for students — positioned between study and daily life.
The project is developed not only as a place for coffee, but as a shared environment for pause, informal gathering, and extended occupation.
Rather than organizing the space around fixed seating typologies, the layout allows multiple modes of use to coexist — from individual work to group interaction.
Material choices are kept restrained and continuous, allowing the space to read as a unified field rather than a collection of elements.
Furniture is integrated into the architectural framework, defining zones through proportion and placement rather than partition.
Large openings connect the interior to the surrounding campus, extending the space visually while maintaining a controlled and calm atmosphere inside.
The café operates as an intermediary condition — neither fully public nor private — supporting the shifting rhythms of student life throughout the day.
